Mohawk Media is a digital media consultancy and training company directed by Helen Baxter, and based in Wellington, New Zealand. The company consults on the use of social media tools and provides streaming services for live events to link communities and individuals thorough the effective use of web-based and emerging communication technologies. The Big Idea

In a first for New Zealand, the CoLab/The Big Idea Online Digital Residency is part of the CoLab development strategy to support innovation, the creation of new digital art work, and collaboration. Read Case Study

Exhibbit 3D Virtual Art Gallery

CoLab commissioned Exhibbit to create a bespoke gallery space that was suitable of the exhibition of student work and a training space for the curation of exhibitions. The software enables students to have unlimited access to both the bespoke AUT University space as well as a range of four standard galleries. Read Case Study

Auckland Council: Our Place

The Our Place project came about when the council’s Arts and Culture manager and the Community Arts Coordinator for Youth saw the need for greater youth engagement in Arts – an opportunity to encourage creativity among youth, as well as provide a voice to young people and develop technical skills – and their proposal received the support of the Tamaki and Waiheke local boards. Jetblack

The Jetblack project www.Jetblack.co.nz is the brainchild of Richard Nowland, who has been leading this project now for a number of years.  The goal is to construct a vehicle that is capable of breaking the world land-speed record – which stands at 763mph (1,246km/h).  Read Case Study

Air New Zealand

With the support of Creative New Zealand, CoLab sought expressions of interest from artists and filmmakers to create two new works for screen that directly interrogate the in-flight experience. The ‘New Work for Screen’ commissions are to be made available in Air New Zealand’s in-flight entertainment programme for a period of three months - a rare opportunity to engage with passengers’ in-flight experience.
