Our next Envisage Presentation Series, brought to you by CoLab in partnership with FILM AUCKLAND, will focus on new developments and opportunities in designing for virtual worlds with Science & Technology Academy Award winner Sebastian Marino.

Sebastian Marino: Wellington-based New Yorker Sebastian Marino is a film industry veteran with over 15 years of experience as both an art and technology supervisor with A-list studios including Industrial Light + Magic, Sony Pictures Imageworks & Weta Digital.  In 2002 he received an Academy Award (Science & Technology) for his contribution to Industrial Light + Magic’s “Creature Dynamics System”, which included tools for creating computer generated cloth, hair, skin and musculo-skeletal structures.  Sebastian is now busy with his own company, 77 Pieces Ltd., which is he claims will revolutionize the fashion industry.

Melanie Langlotz, has worked in the film industry since 1992 starting out with Discreet Logic and Softimage as a one of the first demo artists and trainers. Since then, she has worked in post production around the globe as a Flame Artist /operator, a Business Mentor and a Producer/Fashion-Beauty Editor.  As the New general Manager for Images & Sound, Melanie leads an experienced team creating unique animations, visual effects and sound design.

 

Stephen Knightly applies gaming principles to businesses and online communities. InGame Director and Pursuit PR Director Stephen Knightly has a track record in using technology for successful marketing and training campaigns. With clients including XBox, MTV Games and Fonterra, Stephens mix of experience makes him ideally placed to advise on the fast-moving worlds of gaming, virtual worlds, consumer technology, marketing and mobility.
