The popular Envisage series brought to you by CoLab in partnership with FILM AUCKLAND is back this year beginning in March 2011. Our fifth Envisage Program will focus on new developments and opportunities in Transmedia Production and Design with transmedia pioneers Fiona Milburn, Anna Jackson and keynote speaker Gary Hayes. From Sydney, Gary produces and lectures transmedia, virtual worlds, machinima, social media entertainment, augmented reality and marketing.

Gary is an award winning multi-platform producer, author, educator and runs MUVEDesign.com and founded in 2010 the global StoryLabs.us aimed at transmedia & innovative digital story-telling. Recently becoming a Distinguished Talent permanent resident in Australia his company MUVEDesign.com creates virtual worlds, augmented and alternate reality services for companies including Telstra, ABC TV, Accenture & advertising and education sectors. He founded the Innovation Training Unit LAMP.edu.au in 2005 and for 8 years previously was the Senior Development Producer at UK BBC New Media, pioneering broadband internet, interactive TV and emerging. He runs personalizemedia.com an AdAge Power150 global media-marketing blog and has been an International Interactive Emmy juror for the past few years.

Fiona Milburn
Fiona is a producer and director whose work includes film, television, and stage in New Zealand and internationally and has a background in computer science. It was at Acclaim Entertainment in New York, and in the world’s first dedicated motion capture studio, that she integrated her early computer & stage experience with her production work by creating the narrative sequences and characters for license driven video games. Fiona has lived in London, New York and Los Angeles, and is now based in New Zealand. She has her own production company which specializes in visual effects and technology based content for emerging platforms. She is also involved in the development of online SaaS initiatives for the animation, VFX and video game industries. Fiona is a founding member of Unguarded Intersection, a collaborative group of moving image artists, which specializes in exploring new and innovative ways of presenting the moving image. She is a Patron of Women in Film & Television (WIFT) New Zealand, and is on the Honorary Board of Women in Film and Television International (WIFTI).

Anna Jackson
Anna Jackson's interest in transmedia stems from her experience in various media fields including film production, outreach and research, website management, writing, PR, social media strategy and digital media creation. As a member of Virtuo, a collective of experts focusing on digital strategy and emerging technologies, she has collaborated on several crossmedia, online and mobile projects, most recently an interactive music video for iPhone, (New Day). For the past two years Anna has been involved in the DOC Lab crossmedia incubator, both as a participator and mentor. As a PhD candidate jointly enrolled at the University of Melbourne and University of Auckland, her research examines innovation and change in documentary production in New Zealand with a special focus on the emergence of multiplatform/transmedia documentary.
