Raewyn Turner's short film Lucky  begins with the filmmaker's heartfelt  wish to create a magic potion for 'luck'. She asks herself, "Can I find a way to influence chance"? What follows is a charming, whimsical, funny and at times astounding  journey to discover a contemporary talisman that can be artfully bottled and procured by everyone to banish the experience of losing... forever.

A multi-sensory experience, this installation combined the aroma of chocolate with a video of the
gestural translation of the music of Brahms Hungarian Dances No.10,  displaying the
similar expressions of sorrow and joy we experience with music, gesture and
chocolate.

This project visually explores the idea of identity as a fictional narrative in relation to notions of telepresence, virtual reality and psychoanalysis. It aims to destabilise existing preconceptions of identity and narrative, and encourage self-reflection.

The research investigates the potential for collaborative reconstruction of a participant's self-image, observed from the point of view of an 'other', to engage self-reflection and communicate the idea of identity as a fictional narrative. The hypothesis is that dialogic co-construction of a user's avatar between that user and an interactive system can test this. Projection technology will be employed to reflect distorting, ego-disruptive mirror-images within simulated digital environments.

By Ross Brannigan     Holding the Digital Mirror up to Nature is an experimental theatre piece. Ross Brannigan, an experienced professional actor and lecturer in digital media and performance at AUT University has devised a short compilation of Shakespearian scenes for this one man show.  Interactive video and sensor-based live animation are added to the toolset in this practice as research exploration of craft.

'Making Sense of No Body' is a Masters research project supported by Colab investigating the destabilization of the body with the screen image.

The work focuses on the disruption of the body's sensing system as it is reorganized through encounters with the digital image. Reconfiguring the balance of the sensory system through the intersection of the screen/body destabilizes the body's conventional modes of proprioception and spatial orientation.
