CoLab is running a series of workshops in association with Mohawk Media,
covering online tools and marketplaces for creative entrepreneurs. Join
us in October to learn about taking your art online and growing a
sustainable business.

Designer’s Toolkit.
Making music, artwork or writing a book? Come along to the popular
Creative Online Toolkit developed in association with the People In
Your Neighbourhood project from the British Council.
Want to make a name for yourself? The join us for a Social Media Masterclass and learn how to manage your brand online.
These workshops will be run by Helen Baxter, MD of Mohawk Media,
international keynote speaker, and XMediaLab mentor. She reports on
technology for the g33k show, is a judge in the NZ Yahoo!Xtra Digital
Strategy Awards, and has been strategist and creative columnist with
the MsBehaviour Files for the Big Idea.

Business Management Toolkit

The ultimate business toolkit for organisations which need help to manage projects, time, invoices, accounts, and communications. Learn how to set up an online project folder to manage a remote team, and use free online tools to help you manage your business day to day.
This workshop will be three hours long, and will give participants a guided tour of online business tools to help run and grow a small to medium sized enterprise.
Fashion Designers Toolkit

This workshop will be 90 minutes long, and will give participants a guided tour of online business tools and new market-places for fashion, accessories and jewellery designers.

The ultimate creative toolkit for artists looking to publish, distribute, promote and sell their work independently. With links to digital music distribution, publishing, print on demand systems, Creative Commons licensing for remixing, paypal payments and donation systems, project & event management tools, online & mobile streaming for gigs, plus merchandise and social media marketing tools.

Social Media Masterclass

Cost: $30, Students: $20 (with ID only)
Using social media tools to promote, and monitor brands, products and online identity. A lecture based introduction followed by a practical, hands-on workshop will cover Social Media tools for brand buiding, promotions and knowledge gathering.
This workshop will be three hours long, and will give participants a guided tour of social media tools for SME’s, creative entrepreneurs and not-for-profit community groups.
